Sant Jordi 2013

Espero que hagueu tingut un bon Sant Jordi! M'he passat el dia passejant pel centre de Barcelona i he pogut comprovar que el nombre de gent, llibres i roses cada any és més gran. He fet algunes fotografies per ensenyar-vos el més destacat del dia.

Els grans protagonistes han estat els autors i els seus llibres, sense oblidar-nos dels traductors, que juguen un paper clau, seguits molt de prop per les roses (tant naturals com altres variants creatives i originals), a les quals m'agradaria dedicar aquesta entrada.

I recordeu, no només es pot llegir i regalar roses per Sant Jordi ;)

I hope you have all had a happy Sant Jordi! I have spent the whole day walking through Barcelona's city centre. I have seen each year the number of people, books and roses increases. I have taken some photos to share with you.

The main characters have been authors and their books, without forgetting translators, who play a key role, closely followed by roses (natural and another, creative and originals). I want to dedicate this post to them.

And remember, not just reading and giving roses is possible in Sant Jordi ;)

Warm Bodies / Memorias de un zombie adolescente

Després d’haver llegit el llibre i de saber que l’estrena a Estats Units era l’1 de febrer, sembla que per fi tenim la data d’estrena a Espanya! Segons IMDB, la pel·lícula dirigida per Jonathan Levine i protagonitzada per Nicholas Hoult i Teresa Palmer s’estrenarà el 12 d’abril de 2013, pel que sembla només en castellà. De moment és el primer llibre de zombis que he llegit i, la veritat, és que em va agradar. Haig de dir, sense ofendre ningú, que és millor que Crepuscle (com a mínim millor que el primer, que és l’únic que vaig arribar a llegir). El llibre, tot i ser literatura juvenil, convida al lector a fer una reflexió sobre què és la vida, bastant “profunda” per tractar-se d’un llibre de temàtica zombi.

El vaig llegir en anglès però més tard vaig veure que l’Editorial Empúries l’havia publicat en català, amb el títol L’R i la Julie (traducció de Marina Espasa) i l’editorial Mondadori en castellà, amb el títol R y Julie (traducció de Ignacio Gómez) tots dos l’any 2011.

No crec que arribi a ser la millor pel·lícula del món, però com a mínim sembla que serà entretinguda.


After having read the book and knowing that the USA release was on 1st February, it seems that in Spain we will finally have it in theatres on 12th April! According to IMDB, the film directed by Jonathan Levine and starred by Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer will be released on 12th April, apparently only in Spanish. We can already watch the trailer on Youtube.

For now it is the first zombie novel I've read. The truth is that I liked it. I must say, without offending anyone, it's better than Twilight (at least better than the first book, which is the only one I read). Though the book is considered as teenage literature it invites the reader to dive into a deep reflection on life meaning; despite it being a book about zombies.

I read it in English, but later I saw that it was published in Catalan by Editorial Empúries, under the title L’R i la Julie (translation by Marina Espasa) and in Spanish by Mondadori, under the title R y Julie (translation by Ignacio Gómez Calvo) both in 2011.

I don't think it's going to be the best movie ever but, at least, it seems it's going to be entertaining.
